Created by Bill Samuels Sr., this bourbon was developed to offer a whiskey that is never bitter or sharp. Instead of the traditional rye, Maker's Mark uses soft red winter wheat in its mash bill, resulting in a distinct, full-flavored bourbon profile. Each barrel is rotated by hand to ensure consistency, and the bourbon is aged to taste rather than for a fixed number of years.
